Ameliorating Employability as Well as Study Skills Through Professional and Personal Development

As soon as I initiated delving into the fundamentals of professional and personal development module, business management and its operation remained my focal point. In view of the fact that I was simply intrigued by the manner in which crucial employability and study skills are acquired and the promises that it brings forth which would broaden my knowledge horizon, so that I could excel potentially throughout my academic endeavor. One of the interesting aspects in this particular context is that, aside from experiencing the opportunity to augment and refine diverse skill sets, this module has essentially contributed to enhance my learning curve to grow simultaneously. That is why throughout the course of this reflective journal, aside from delving into the ramification this module has exerted on my communication skills, I would also extrapolate the manner in which research abilities are enhanced, so that I could use ICTs, networking and actively encourage teamwork, all while effectively managing time so that I can enhance my problem solving skills.

Communication Skills Verbal and Nonverbal Communication

The effect of communication skills on managing business is quintessential in nature, which has been underscored extensively by this module. However, the emphasis on verbal answers as written forms of communication is what sets this module apart. In view of the fact that through numerous presentations and class discussions, the manner in which complicated ideas can be effectively conveyed to broader mass, so that they could perceive the essence of the idea has been notably upheld in this module. For instance, my skills of communication have greatly been enhanced during executing a presentation regarding the operational structure of managing a business, so that it performs at its optimal efficiency. Aside from distilling information, communication is crucial for enhancing the credibility of the presentation (Roetzel 2019). This experience solitarily assisted me to hone my skills, so that I could present information coherently to the target audience. On a similar note, the written assignments which are entrusted upon me also encourage me to actively engage in enhancing my vocabulary, so that I could potentially articulate my thoughts precisely as well as logically. This is necessary while conveying rudimentary concepts of strategies pertinent with business management through official communication format, since incorporation of precise language in this essence, not only gravitates the circumstance of the overall message, but at the same time assist an individual to convey the message to the intended audience seamlessly (Dana et al. 2021).

Research Skills

From an apparent vision it would seem that extracting information from credible sources can be equated to research. However, in reality, this module has significantly drawn a fine line of distinction between delving into intricate research through critical analysis of accumulated information from simply drawing conclusion from credible sources. Through extensive assignments my knack for extrapolating information through critical analysis sored. I also realized that information can be distilled to a certain extent by consulting empirical based studies. For instance, I have stumbled upon extracting information from various market trends regarding a project while pursuing this module. The amount of data in the form of articles and reports that I have to sift through is simply staggering. However, at the end of the day I drew my inference on the basis of information which I have synthesized from diverse sources in order to substantiate my arguments precisely and effectively.

The use of ICTs

One of the characteristic factors that is most intriguing throughout this module is the innovative inculcation of Information and Communication Technology utilization for professional and academic reasons. I get the opportunity to employ data visualization tactics, so that I could depict business performance information and the simplified manner there is quite comprehensible in nature. With the advent of ICTs, it is now feasible for an organization to analyze market trend pertaining to consumer preference and make business decisions in an informed manner (Jena 2020).

Networking and Teamwork

Actively participating in projects that necessitates group activity enhanced my networking skills. This also provided fertile grounds for cultivating relationship with peers from different disciplines, which has exponentially exposed my knowledge horizon to diverse perspective, so that I can dissect critical information pertinent with business landscape, for the sake of leveraging expertise from different members in order to distill holistic solutions.

Time and self management

Maintaining an equilibrium between the notion of time and self management so that work life integration can be accomplished successfully has been reinforced throughout the course of this module, which has essentially open up new horizon for me so that I can schedule my priorities accordingly and efficiently.

Problem Solving Skills.

This module has also facilitated skill attributed with problem solving, so that I can resolve critical circumstances in order to derive strategies that can be practically incorporated to analyze complex circumstances.

Actively participating in group discussions and meticulously completing assignments facilitated immersive practical application of the theoretical concepts assimilated.

Upon contemplation, I discerned that each undertaken activity seamlessly contributed to the refinement of distinct skill domains. For instance, the comprehensive research endeavors undertaken for a particular project notably augmented my prowess in discerning pertinent information with precision.

Abstract Conceptualization:

An astute cognizance of an evolving pattern of proficiency enhancement emerged (Raut et al. 2019). Specifically, an escalation in research involvements engendered an ameliorated acumen in judiciously evaluating sourced materials, consequently eliciting invaluable insights.

Active Experimentation:

Embarking on the subsequent tasks, I ventured to actualize my elevated proficiencies. This endeavor manifested in the adroit incorporation of sophisticated data visualization methodologies, profoundly enhancing the efficacy of my subsequent presentations.

Future Skill Development Plan

• The first course of action that is imperative for me at this particular juncture is to consolidate my communication skill. Although I am quite confident about it; however, there are certain scope for amendment, which can only be consolidated through enrolling in public speaking seminars. This would assist me in honing my presentation skills and refine verbal and nonverbal communication as well.
• After intricately analyzing diverse case studies pertinent with competitive market landscape, I have reached a conclusion that my abilities relevant with problem solving are not always appreciable in nature (Longenecker et al. 2022). Hence, fortification of my ability in order to tackle impediments emanating from real world business circumstances is prudential. This can only be accomplished through extensive participation in critically analyzing business landscape and associated resolve for solving the impediment.
• Broadening the business network is also one of my focuses. One of my notable shortcomings revolves around lack of networking. The reason being that the numbers of influential individuals whom I am in contact with is also limited. This can only be augmented through extensively participating in conferences and seminars, so that professional skills can be expanded in order to broaden my Business Network.

Conclusion

In essence an inference can be drawn that the overall module of Professional and Personal Development has played a pivotal role in cultivating skill set pertinent with employability. Besides augmenting communication, skills of problem solving have also been emphasized upon significantly throughout this module, which holds immense value for fortifying my future career aspirations. To conclude, it can be stated that as I initiate my endeavor, I feel confident regarding the foundations that this module has laid.
