Brief & Rubric Check

What we check

Markers grade against the rubric, not against how much effort went in. We check your draft the same way.

The question and command words

Does your answer do what "evaluate", "critically discuss" or "compare" asks, or does it describe?

Every rubric criterion

Each criterion is mapped to the part of your draft that addresses it, or flagged as missing.

Learning outcomes

The module learning outcomes markers are told to look for, and whether your work shows them.

Structure and word count

Section balance against the weighting in the brief, required headings and the word limit.

Evidence for your grade band

Whether you use enough credible, recent sources for the band you are aiming for.

Submission requirements

File format, cover sheet, anonymity rules and the referencing style named in the brief.

What you get back

Clear, prioritised feedback you can act on in an evening.

  • A criteria table showing met, partly met or missing for each criterion, with page references
  • Margin comments on your draft explaining each gap
  • A prioritised fix list, with the changes worth the most marks first
  • Grade-band guidance on what lifts work from a 2:2 to a 2:1, or a 2:1 to a First

Example feedback (illustrative)
This report will discuss the impact of remote working on employee wellbeing. Many studies show that remote working has advantages and disadvantages. The next section looks at the case of Company X.
Rubric C2: Critical evaluation (30%)

Partly met. You list advantages and disadvantages but don't weigh them. Add a sentence that takes a position and explains why.

Brief: "apply at least one theoretical model"

Missing. No model is used yet. Introduce one in section 2 and link the Company X findings back to it.

How it works

Four simple steps, all on UK time.

  1. 1

    Share your files

Upload your brief, marking rubric and draft through the form or WhatsApp, and tell us your deadline.

  2. 2

    Get matched

A UK-qualified expert in your subject reviews your files and confirms the turnaround.

  3. 3

    Receive feedback

You get an annotated copy of your draft plus a prioritised list of what to fix.

  4. 4

    Revise with confidence

You make the changes yourself. Questions about the feedback? Ask your expert.

Academic integrity

Feedback on your work, never a replacement for it

Every check is designed to help you improve the draft you wrote, in line with UK law and your university's rules.

What we do

  • Review the draft you wrote and explain our feedback in plain English
  • Show where your work falls short of the brief, rubric or style guide
  • Suggest how to improve, with examples and sentence frames you adapt yourself
  • Respect your university's academic integrity and AI-use policies

What we don't do

  • Write, rewrite or complete any part of your assessed work
  • Submit work on your behalf or log in to your university systems
  • Guarantee a grade or a similarity score
  • Disguise AI-generated text or help bypass detection tools

Brief & Rubric Check: frequently asked questions

What is a rubric check?

A rubric check compares your draft with the marking rubric your tutor will use. An expert goes through each criterion, shows where your work meets it, where it partly meets it and where it is missing, then explains how to close the gaps.

Can you tell me what grade my assignment will get?

We can show you which grade-band descriptors your draft currently matches and what would move it up, but we cannot guarantee a grade. Your marker makes the final judgement.

What do I need to send for a rubric check?

Your assignment brief, the marking rubric or criteria grid, any learning outcomes, your draft and your deadline. Tutor feedback from earlier work also helps.

Do you edit or rewrite my assignment?

No. You receive comments and a fix list, and you make the changes yourself. That keeps the work yours and within your university's rules.

Is a rubric check allowed by my university?

Feedback on your own draft is similar to the support a university study skills service offers. We never write assessed work. Check your module handbook in case a specific assessment restricts outside help.

How long does a rubric check take?

Usually 24–48 hours, depending on length. If your deadline is sooner, choose the Last-Minute Review, which is often returned within 6–12 hours.

Check your draft against the rubric

Upload your brief, rubric and draft. A UK expert will show you which criteria still need work.
