Expert Code of Conduct

Academic integrity

• Teach, explain and give feedback; never write assessed work for a student to submit, or complete exams or assessments for them.
• Decline requests that would breach our Academic Integrity Policy and tell the support team.

Professionalism

• Be respectful, patient and inclusive with every student.
• Only take work within your expertise, and be honest about what you can deliver and when.
• Communicate through MAS UK channels and keep to agreed timeframes.

Safeguarding and wellbeing

If a student appears to be at risk, or shares something that worries you, tell the support team straight away. Never arrange to meet a student in person.

Confidentiality

Keep all student information and files confidential, as set out in the Expert Privacy & Confidentiality Agreement.

Quality

Give accurate, well-referenced guidance that reflects UK academic conventions and the student’s brief and marking criteria.

Breaches

Breaking this code may lead to removal from the MAS UK expert network.
