Where marks go missing

These six problems come up again and again in UK marker feedback, and every one can be fixed before you submit.

Answering a different question

The draft is good, but it doesn't do what the command word ("evaluate", "compare") asks.

Fix it with the Brief & Rubric Check →

A rubric criterion left out

One missed criterion can cap a grade band, however strong the rest is.

Referencing errors

Missing page numbers, mismatched citations and the wrong Harvard variant add up quickly.

Fix it with the Referencing Check →

Paraphrasing too close to the source

Patchwriting raises similarity and integrity questions, even when it's cited.

Fix it with the Similarity & AI-Use Review →

Description instead of analysis

Summarising theory without evaluating it keeps work in the 2:2 range.

Fix it with the Critical Analysis Review →

Running out of time

No final read-through means avoidable errors reach the marker.

Fix it with the Last-Minute Review →

How it works

Four simple steps, all on UK time.

You get an annotated copy of your draft plus a prioritised list of what to fix.

  4. 4

    Revise with confidence

You make the changes yourself. Questions about the feedback? Ask your expert.

Academic integrity

Feedback on your work, never a replacement for it

Every check is designed to help you improve the draft you wrote, in line with UK law and your university's rules.

What we do

  • Review the draft you wrote and explain our feedback in plain English
  • Show where your work falls short of the brief, rubric or style guide
  • Suggest how to improve, with examples and sentence frames you adapt yourself
  • Respect your university's academic integrity and AI-use policies

What we don't do

  • Write, rewrite or complete any part of your assessed work
  • Submit work on your behalf or log in to your university systems
  • Guarantee a grade or a similarity score
  • Disguise AI-generated text or help bypass detection tools

Pre-Submission Checks: frequently asked questions

What is a pre-submission check?

A pre-submission check is expert feedback on your own draft before you hand it in. A UK subject expert compares your work with the brief, marking rubric and referencing style, flags what could lose marks and explains how to fix it. You make every change yourself.

Which pre-submission check should I choose?

Start from your usual feedback. Choose the Brief & Rubric Check if you are told you missed the question or criteria, the Referencing Check for citation problems, the Similarity & AI-Use Review for similarity or AI-policy concerns, the Critical Analysis Review if your work is called descriptive, and the Last-Minute Review when the deadline is close. A full review combines all five.

Are pre-submission checks allowed by UK universities?

Getting feedback on your own work is similar to using a university study skills or writing centre. We never write or rewrite assessed work, which is what UK law and university policies prohibit. Always check your module handbook, as some assessments restrict outside help.

What do I need to send?

Your assignment brief, the marking rubric or criteria, your draft and your deadline. For referencing or similarity checks, also include the style guide or similarity report if you have one.

How long does a check take?

Most checks are returned within 24–48 hours. The Last-Minute Review is often returned within 6–12 hours, depending on length and subject. We confirm the turnaround before you pay.

Will a check guarantee a better grade?

No honest service can guarantee a grade, because your marker decides. What a check does is show you the specific, fixable issues that most often cost marks, so you can address them before submission.

Book your pre-submission check

Upload your brief, rubric and draft. A UK expert will show you what to fix before your marker sees it.
